Guiding

Looking to take up mountain biking or need help putting together an offroad adventure in Wales?

I am a fully qualified and insured MBLA Trail Cycle Leader trained in basic skills coaching, first aid, navigation, maintenance and child protection, and I have spent countless hours exploring the trails in this part of the world, both man-made and natural. I can also arrange hire bikes, food and an extra guide for groups of more than eight riders.

Areas covered:

Brechfa Forest, Mynydd Mallaen/Cwm Rhaeadr, Doethie Valley, Tywi Forest, Crychan Forest, Irfon Forest, Rhayader, Brecon Beacons, Afan Valley, Nant yr Arian, Dyfi Forest... Anywhere up the spine of Wales, basically.

Novice riders:
The MTB trails at Brechfa are perfect for beginners and near-beginners (well everyone really). I can help both adults and children learn the basic skills needed to cycle off-road safely and have as much fun as possible. You'll find me a patient, easygoing guy. I just take it out on my own family later.

Regular riders:
Fancy a bit of natural action as an alternative to trail centres, or a mixture of the two, or just need someone who knows the shortcuts to the best bits? From the rocky enduro trails of Brechfa Forest to the out-there-ness of the Doethie Valley to the splash-fest that is the Tywi Track and all stops inbetween, I can help maximise the fun stuff and save you the hassle of navigation.

Expert riders:
I have the fitness and experience to ensure that even battle-hardened XC/endurance racers and singlespeeders get the most out of their visit. There are some cracking loops out there for anyone up for 50 miles plus in a day.

Cost:

1-to-1: £30 for half a day or £50 for a full day.
Groups: From £10 per person for half a day and £15 per person for a full day.
Food/bikes extra.
